Slacker
So I've been slacking a little bit on the blog lately, we have been a bit busy around here. But here's an update on the house situation... We pulled our offer on the 3/4 acre horse property about 3 weeks ago. We just happened to luckily stumble across some information about that house and the community that led us to pull the offer. The subdivision is at the base of a mountain. Pulte, the home builder, did not put the required retention basins in the community that were called for on the plans. So pretty much it's a river through this community when it rains. We even saw a video of it, it was awful!! Though it's been an issue for years, Pulte hasn't taken responsibility for the error and it still hasn't been corrected. Though it will someday get fixed, we were faced with a possible mold issue because the houses flood INSIDE when it rains out there. So the next day, coincidentally, we got an answer back on a short sale offer we put in 2 months ago. We figured we would find something else in the meantime after putting in that offer, considering we were told it would take about 6 months to get an answer back. But it only took 2 months! That house is ours for the taking, but we're going to sit back and think about it for a little while first before we decide for sure. It does look like we'll most likely be buying that one but I don't wanna jump the gun just yet... you never know apparently!

I am really glad that you didn't move into that house then. How messed up that the builder didn't make it right the first time.
I bet you find something so much better now. Glad you found out before hand.
well myb it ws a blessing in disguise u will find the right one for u guys on the westside lol...jk but really u will!
Bitter-sweet I guess. All good in the end, though.
P.S.- So, you CAVED & decided to get a dog after all!? I thought you were gonna' stand strong with me. : (
haa haa
The kids will love it, though, and they can grow up together. We have been dog-sitting Michael's brother's lab, Sadie about 2-4 times per week, so we're getting ALL the dog action we need! She is so well-behaved, and she loves having our yard since she lives in an apartment regularly.
So glad you found out about this before you purchased the home. How ticked you would have been if it would have rained and the situation was unknown to you. Good luck with the next house!
glad you found out about the house before you ended up with a flood in your living room.
