A Mix of Both

my camera has been on the fritz for a little while so i don't have new pics. but i thought i would do an update on the kiddos. nolan's still a little young so it's harder to pick up on his habits, but here's our blend of mama and dada...

kylee - looks like her mama

snores like daddy

chews ice like daddy

chews on straws while drinking like daddy

talks in her sleep

attached to my hip and will not let me out of her sight for a second ( i love it!)

wakes up crying for mama 3-4 times a night

allergic to bulldogs like daddy. it's actually getting worse. i have her on zyrtec which is a 24 hr medicine but i'm having to give it to her twice a day.

tomboy - this might remind me of someone ( he he )

shy around people she doesn't know. and embarasses easily.

eating habits like mama. she's so funny, she eats just like me. and is not picky at all (but i know i was VERY picky when i was younger).

reading - loves her some books! hopefully that sticks.

laughs like mama. i was told the other day by two people that she laughs like me. ha ha, i hadn't noticed.

parmesan cheese - this girl is obsessed with parmesan cheese and asks for it every night at dinner. weirdo.

hair is finally getting thicker. i couldn't imagine why her hair felt so thin. ryan and i both have thick hair. but now all of her little baby hairs are growing in and sticking out everywhere. and she has the most beautiful red sheen on medium brown hair. i am in love with it.

she has absolutely no desire for the potty. dr says it's probably because of a huge lack of communication for so long. she wants nothing to do with it. that's okay, i'm not gonna push her if she's not ready. i know she'll let me know when she is.

fitfull sleeper like daddy. she's moving and shaking even in her sleep. ryan is always on the move when he's sleeping too.

she is beginning to talk more and more. her vocabulary isn't necessarily exploding like we had hoped, but she is saying what she does say much more often. she isn't nearly age appropriate yet and will be reevaluated when she turns 3. if she still hasn't caught up yet, she'll be headed to preschool. but i may be putting her in a headstart program in feb. we'll see about that. i think it would be great for her.

she is tall, tall, tall! either she's gonna do all her growing now and stop at age 5 or she's just gonna be tall when she's older. she has the longest legs that she will be grateful for when she's old enough to appreciate it. she's much shorter in the torso area though, her hips sit quite high. i think she'll be built like me when she's older. long legged, short torsoed, and slim. i hate my proportions but it's because i'm short. if she gets some height to her, she'll love it.

ryan says he can tell that she has his athleticism. i hope she doesn't have my lack thereof!

she's getting more and more freckles on her cute little face

and i can't believe i have her in half 3T and half 4T, depending on the brand. once the diaper goes, i don't know how i'm going to keep her pants up. she has no butt, ha!



nolan - looks more like daddy

extremely sensitive and gets his feelers hurt very easily. better toughen up soon kiddo, life is rough.

overemotional. this kid will cry at the drop of a dime. i always joke that he's every bit the girl that kylee isn't. they are very different. but he is way more mellow and goes with the flow much better than her.

reflux - good lord his reflux. it is finally under control and doesn't give us problems. for now. i think he got this from ryan who throws his dinner up about 3 nights a week from projectile acid.

blabbermouth - what a chatterbox! he talks all day long and will repeat anything (uh oh!). i remember kylee only having 3 words at 18 months and he's in the 60's already. yes, i keep a list. and is already putting 2 and 3 words together.

infectious laugh. he has the most infectious laugh, it makes me laugh every time i hear it. his laugh brightens his whole face. he's my handsome little guy.

obsessed with bella. oh lord, he is crazy about her. when he wakes up in the morning i can hear him asking for her before i go get him. and every time we leave, as we're pulling away "by bye ella". he's so cute.

this kid wants to be held all day long. and he can not entertain himself for a minute. kylee has always been so good about playing by herself, even for extended periods of time. he can't and wont. he needs constant attention, loving, hugging. he gives good kisses too!

he is a peaceful sleeper like mama. he can fall asleep and sleep in that same position forever. it's been a long while since i've had the opportunity to sleep like that and i miss it. but it's the best feeling when you wake up in the morning and hadn't moved a muscle the whole time. now that's sleep!

funniest run. it is HILARIOUS when he runs! his little stubs for legs are so funny. he looks like a little leprachaun. his bull-leggedness is slowly going away but he still runs so funny. i love it and keep meaning to get it on video.

he is just average height (his long torso must be making up for his legs, ha!), but weighs 30 lbs already. he's got a good build on him now but i think he'll be built like ryan when he gets older.

he's getting both hernias fixed and his tongue clipped in jan. like kylee, he can't stick his tongue out. it's funny.

he is a much pickier eater than kylee. not troublesome picky, but definitely dislikes certain foods.

i shaved all his hair off. he looks like such a big boy. it was growing faster in back than on top so i figured we'll just shave it for a while until it starts to fill in. it is turning brown. if he's like daddy, who was white-blond at this age, then he'll be just as dark as him someday.

and he has daddy's cute butt. lucky duck. kylee's gonna be jealous someday, ha ha!
